Taco Sloppy Joes | The Best of Two Worlds

My kids ate Taco Sloppy Joes, mostly because there were bread and cheese involved {that is a dominant trait they inherited from me, lucky ducks} but they loved piling on the lettuce, guacamole, and meat and gobbling it up. I was shocked because they really LOVE my regular sloppy joes, but they loved these too. So, this is me winning at motherhood right here with another messy yet satisfying recipe. Make it and be amazed.

Main Ingredients Needed

Here is everything you’ll need to start on these messy but oh so tasty Taco Sloppy Joes!

  • Olive Oil –this is used for sauteing and cooking.
  • Onions + Garlic –two basic but flavorful ingredients that make a great base for any meal.
  • Ground Turkey –I used 99% fat-free. Feel free to use ground beef if you’d like.
  • Tomato Sauce –this is just regular ol’ tomato sauce you’d find in the canned section at the grocery store.
  • Water –this is to loosen up the sauce and help things meld together.
  • Mild Diced Green Chiles –if you like things spicy consider getting the hotter version.
  • Taco Seasoning –buy some or make it homemade.
  • Cumin –just a little extra for flavor.
  • Salt + Pepper –season to taste.
  • Hamburger Buns –we like to toast our buns to give them some texture.
