Spring Bucket List: 17 Spring Activities For Bored Kids (2024)

Do your kids have spring fever? A spring bucket list will help you kick that cabin fever to the curb!

Spring has arrived! Or at least that is what the calendar says.

While a few of my friends are saying the flowers are in bloom and the grass is green where they live, I have a different view.

Grey skies. Mud in the yard. And a last-minute snowfall or two in April I am sure. And this means my kids are bouncing off the walls!

Creating a spring bucket list I can hang on the fridge and check off is a great way to keep those goals in sight.

This list is great for adding quick fun at the end of your workday.

Quick and easy activities to connect with your kids that you don’t have to think about. Perfect for busy moms.

Grab the instant download at the bottom of this list and circle the ones you know will work great for your family.

The great thing about this list is that not all of them require a ton of time. Not all of them require being outside. All of them inspire you to have fun.

Below you will find a list of ideas that you can add to your spring homeschooling bucket list.

You will also find clickable links to take you to resources to help you do that activity.

Use this list to get creative ideas or spark great conversations with your family to create your own.

Spring Bucket List:

I loved our fall bucket list because I didn’t have to think about it. We picked what we thought would be fun, printed off our list and when we needed a break it was there.

Because it worked so well I decided to gather up ideas for a spring bucket list.I hope you get inspired to add some easy fun for your family this springtoo!

Spring Bucket List Ideas:

1. Go for a nature walk.

I learned exactly how much your child can learn in your own backyard when we used our Backyard Science book.

Get your kids out in the sunshine and explore. Take note of what you see, what you hear, and what you smell. Have GREAT conversations with your kids.

(Get the free hikingsafety checklist here.)

We really love including nature study in our homeschool. You can get 30+ ideas on how to do that as a busy mom here.

2. Plan and plant a garden.

With our weather, we won’t be planting outside any time soon. However, now is a great time to start planning a garden.

Did you know you can use Lego to help your little ones plan a garden? Tina shows how to do that here.

Or pick up a gardening book or two and let your kids go wild researching the zone you live in and what they can grow.

One of the first signs of spring is not our snow melting but the sound of birds.

Building a bird feeder is a fun springtime activity for all ages.

Bonnie shares how to build a simple Popsicle stick bird feeder here, perfect for little ones.

We made several bird feeders in our Notebooking Bird Unit Study including one from a wine bottle which is great for older kids.

Biking is a wonderful family activity that all ages can enjoy and should definitely be on your spring bucket list.

Do you know which playground is the BEST in your area?

A great and fun way to find out is to plan and execute a playground hop.

Here is how to do it:

  1. Make a list of all the playgrounds within a driving or time area. For example, all the playgrounds are within 30 minutes.
  2. Plan out your driving route and how long you will stay at each one.
  3. Pack a bag. Add things such as sunblock, food (lots of snacks!), water, and extra clothes such as a coat or hat.
  4. Make the rule that when the time is up no matter how much fun you are having you STOP and go to the next playground.
  5. Get your kids to “rate” the playground and discover which one is the BEST!

Then, place the list somewhere you will see it.

Having a list on hand of things we want to try that is FUN takes the pressure off of me. No scrambling trying to come up with something when we have a bad day.

Now when those days come, we take a break. Pull out our list. Find something we want to do and make a plan for when we can do it.

Sometimes we can do it that day. Other times we need to wait for my next day off. Either way, it gives us something to look forward too and shifts our mindset from the “bad day” to something good ♥
