The Cardinals scored their first touchdown of the contest via a six-yard touchdown for running back Carson Steele. That rush occurred on 4th-and-1, and ends Penn State's second-half shutout. Ball State manufactured a 10-play, 75-yard drive in approximately three minutes. Now Penn State will look to milk some clock and close out this contest.

The Nittany Lions' onslaught continues with a 22-yard field goal conversion for Jordan Stout. It's his third field goal of the afternoon, and punctuates a 12-play, 55-yard possession that lasted 5:32 following a Ball State interception. Penn State has scored 13 unanswered points since halftime, and the Nittany Lions areup to 445 total yards.

Penn State is in command and marching again as this game transitions into the fourth quarter.Following an 18-yard completion from Sean Clifford to Parker Washington, PSU has the ball at Ball State's 32-yard line. Clifford is 20-of-27 passing for 218 yards with one touchdowns to go with 60 yards and a score on the ground. Nittany Lions cornerback Daequan Hardy halted the Cardinals' preceding possession with his first career interception. Penn State forced two turnovers in the third quarter.

A 43-yard run by QB Sean Clifford put Penn State in position to pick up more points. The Nittany Lions failed to reach the end zone after reaching the red zone, but a 26-yard field goal from Jordan Stout makes it a 28-point advantage with the fourth quarter nearing. Stout is 2-of-3 on field goal attempts Saturday. Penn State has 190 rushing yards, and 390 overall, averaging 6.5 per play.

Penn State's defense does the scoring this time when Jesse Luketa plucks a one-handed interception and returns it 16 yards for his first career score. Luketa made the play in pass coverage at defensive end after spending the first half at middle linebacker with starter Ellis Brooks absent (due a fourth-quarter targeting penalty last week). Brooks was back in the lineup to begin second-half action. The Nittany Lions have built their biggest lead of the matchup, putting the pressure on Ball State with slightly more than 20 minutes remaining.

The Nittany Lions missed a chance for more points on their opening possession of the second half, as kicker Jordan Stout missed a 45-yard field goal attempt wide left. Stout, who earned Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Year honors for his punting success last Saturday, has missed a field goal in each contest this season. Running back Keyvone Lee led the charge offensively, turning four consecutive carries into 46 yards before the drive stalled.

Ball State doubles its scoring total on the final snap of first-half action.Jake Chanove kicks his second field goal for the Cardinals, converting from 23 yards after Penn State faced a 1st-and-goal situation from the four-yard line. Ball State QB Drew Plitt completed six passes during a 12-play, 70-yard possession. The Cardinals generated 153 yards (4per play) during the first half, while Penn State produced 261 yards (6.4 per play).

The Nittany Lions are taking control in Beaver Stadium. Sean Clifford completes a 25-yard touchdown toss to Jahan Dotson, who did much of the work himself in avoiding and surging past Ball State defenders en route to the end zone. The Nittany Lions didn't score points until the third quarter last Saturday but this Ball State defense is struggling to stop Penn State. Sean Clifford scored on a QB sneak from under center from one yard out to push PSU ahead 14-0. It was an eight-play, 76-yard drive, headlined by a 24-yard pass completion to running back Keyvone Lee. Penn State has used three running backs already, with Lee, Noah Cain, and Devyn Ford involved.

After forcing a three-and-out defensively, Penn State marched down the field on its first possession. Back in front of a home crowd, the Nittany Lions used 13 plays and 4:33 of game time to drive 78 yards, capped off by a five-yard touchdown rush for Noah Cain.
